Little Heart Keeps Beating…

Here’s another update from Mary about Edwin. Again, he’s the little boy who is one of several that benefited from the more than $1,000 raised by my friends, my family and myself. Edwin recently received heart surgery in Honduras and a portion of our donation helped provide his lodging and transportation.

Edwin is doing great. We took him to the doctor yesterday. He did another echo cardiogram and it was very good. The doctor was very pleased with the results of the surgery. He has a problem with one of his eyes so the doctor gave me the name of a specialist. We could go through the public hospital but that could take months and several trips. It is only L600 for the office visit so by the time we pay several bus trips to the public hospital, it is actually cheaper to pay one trip plus the office visit. I’m not sure what the problem is and neither is Dr. Fonseca. he is a heart specialist, not eyes:) He said that the doctors noticed one of his eyes being “darker” than usual.

I have traveling fever and see no relief from the infectious, but welcome disease anytime in the near future. Symptoms are getting worse. Flights are being purchased at random that are taking me further and further away from "home" for longer and longer periods of time. I really can't imagine life NOT on the road anymore. I will explore all 193+ countries. Yes, I am a "professional blogger." I'm also a photog enthusiast. What you see is what you get... and that's nothing short of wonderful.
